Peace begins with us
“It is my conviction that there is no way to peace—peace is the way.”~Thich Nhat Hanh
I was digging through the racks at Old Navy looking for a few gifts and this shirt popped out at me with the simple word peace. It seems like a simple word, but this word really packs a punch.
As we begin to gather with family during the holiday season there may be strife and conflict, as you shop you may experience an angry and frustrated shopper, as we watch what is happening in the Ukraine, Africa, Peru etc. this word seems so unattainable and large!
One of my favorite parts of the Catholic mass is the sign of peace. It’s a little different looking now that many don’t want to shake hands because of Covid, but looking another in the eye and saying “Peace be with you” is so small, yet powerful.
As the saying goes, “peace begins with you.”
The last week before Christmas is upon us; may you bring peace into your heart to pass on to another.
If you feel stressed, angry, frustrated- take a breath- inhale the word peace and exhale the word peace.
Peace be with you!
