What do you want to learn this year?
As we left the beauty of Joshua Tree National Park, my daughter asked us what we would like to learn this year. We had learned a lot about this amazing National Park and I had just finished 2 days learning about tuning forks and their effect on the human body. I love to learn new ways to teach and love to read and listen to podcasts about becoming a better version of myself.
But, this question kind of hit me!
It reminded me of a friend who lives in Las Vegas talking about going to circus training, to learn something new and challenging.
Yes, she lives in Las Vegas where you can find all kinds of interesting things to try. But this and my daughter's question got me thinking about moving out of our comfort zone and trying and learning new things.
This past week in Palm Springs we were lucky to have our kids with us and they wanted to learn how to play Pickleball. It was fun to see them as adults learn a new activity
I often have people tell me they are afraid of coming to yoga or pilates. They don’t want to be embarrassed and they can’t touch their toes…
It’s like anything new, it’s scary to take the first step as we are unsure of what we are doing. But it is also scary to not try new things and learn something different than what we know.
To me life is a practice, not a perfection.
We learn, we laugh, we change muscle and brain.
What do you want to learn this year?
By the way, my daughter wants to learn to become more financially literate.
