Women, let’s root for each other

I’ve been looking for a new swimsuit for the past 2 months.

Yes, two months!!

I’ve looked at one-piece suits, bikinis, and tankinis.

FULLISH coverage is what I was looking for.

This time of year, when all the articles become about the “summer body,” I can’t help but get sucked into it and overanalyze each dimple on my legs.

I love it when I go to the beach and see all body types in all kinds of swimsuits. I often find myself amazed by the swimsuits some women wear. Then my mind wanders to, 'Wow, I wish I could do that. Then, why can’t you do that, Mary?

So many thoughts. Too many negative thoughts!

I’m doing my best, trying not to judge, but what I really want to do is run up to these women and high-five them for adventuring out in a bikini with many dimples showing.

This week in class, I opened my Heart Talk book from Cleo Wade and read this:

Rooting for each other:

Do you think

Mother Nature Cares

That any of her

Beautiful flowers

Grow in an array

Of shades and sizes?

Or that one grows

In this direction

And one grows in

That direction?

No,

She puts all of them in her

Magnificent garden

So they may

Be together and

Root for each other.

So, today I will buy a new suit, and I will appreciate each dimple that has formed for a reason. I will bask in the sunshine and be reminded that I am a part of a magnificent garden, and I’m here to root for all women who are constantly reminded of our flaws and what we need to change.

We know a garden is far more beautiful with all types of colors and flowers. So let’s root for each other.
