Rest, healing, boundaries, moving, foods that love you.
"I wish people knew that: rest was productive, healing was non-linear, boundaries weren't rude, crying wasn't weakness, moving your body was a privilege, eating foods that love you back wasn't dieting." -Dr. Will Cole
How is your January so far?
I feel like I'm so often inundated with information that it is hard to suss it out.
Last year was the year of eating more protein, and we all realized how much we actually should be eating, which felt overwhelming.
This year, the focus seems to be on fiber, because I guess we were so worried about not getting enough protein, we forgot our fiber:)
When I read this quote, it instantly put me at ease.
Rest, healing, boundaries, moving, foods that love you.
What if we really listen to what our bodies need?
~What if one day we need more rest, and another day we need to move more than normal?
~Eating the foods that love us back. The protein AND the fiber.
~Saying Yes when it feels right and no when it feels right.
~Being patient with our body as it tries to heal from whatever that may be.
~Crying when we need to.
This year, let's listen to our bodies and give ourselves grace when things don't go as planned.
