What do you do with the extra 15 minutes you are suddenly presented with?

So, let's say you are crazy running around between taking care of work obligations and family obligations, and you suddenly get 15 minutes.

What do you do?

Do you take out your phone and scroll?

Do you walk?

Do you ring a family or friend?

Do you do some quick workout?

Do you read a chapter in a book?

Do you walk around aimlessly because you are not used to having 15 minutes randomly pop up in your day?

If I'm being honest, I'm usually doing the last one.  I often aimlessly move around my house, looking to fill the time, and it makes me think about all the things I could be doing and doing none.

I'm the type of person who often feels like I have to go all in. I sit and read a book until I fall asleep. I feel like I should walk for 30 minutes or do a full yoga or pilates class, but then I have to lift weights for 30 minutes! I usually end up playing games on my phone or cleaning a drawer that didn't need cleaning.

As you may know, I'm not great at writing lists of things I need to do. But I think I will write a list (okay, maybe it's in my head) of things I can do in 15 minutes.

Meditate

lift weights

get some good footwork done on my reformer

walk 7½ minutes, then turn around and come back home

read a chapter in a book.

These are the things I usually tell myself I don't have time for.

But…I really do.

For the next few weeks, I'll prioritize this empty time and fill it with things that bring me joy.

How are you going to fill that space?  Let me know!
